Corona crisis causes counter-visit to falter

Corona crisis causes counter-visit to falter

Uncertain times, especially for cross-border partnerships in sports. At the end of may, a delegation of about 25 handball players from bad bruckenau was to leave for ancenis in brittany to visit their french partner club. When or if this will come to fruition in view of the current corona crisis, no one is able to estimate today. "There is now just as standstill as with us", says christian karl of the FC bad bruckenau.

Maybe we could say something more about it in april. In any case, he personally wished that there would be a return visit by the handball players from bad bruckenau. Because christian karl is the secret founder of the cross-country handball partnership, which had its first major highlight in bad bruckenau last july. "The whole thing actually started with me. In 2018, rather out of boredom, I looked on facebook and on the internet to see if our partner city ancenis had a handball club. And then I wrote to the french handball players via facebook in the summer of 2018 and made contact with them." After many exchanges of messages with jeanne perroteau, who is responsible for the facebook page of the handball players in ancenis, plans emerged for a visit to bad bruckenau. This was combined with a meeting of the partner cities in the summer of 2019. "Luckily, that worked out great right away.", christian karl looks back.

The people of bad bruckenau were amazed at the importance of handball in their neighboring country. "This is a huge club in ancenis. They have many more young people and teams than we have in bad bruckenau." For one day in the summer of 2019 everything revolved around the sport of handball, which has a long history in ancenis. In the friendly matches, the teams were mixed, so that handball players from bad bruckenau played in french teams and vice versa. The FC bad bruckenau puts in the handball sport great emphasis on the youth area. The ancenis handball club follows a very similar philosophy. The outstanding level of sporting training of all the french teams caused astonishment and recognition in bad bruckenau.

First bowling tournament at the kronach retirement home

First bowling tournament at the kronach retirement home

Now it's official: the lucas cranach senior citizens' home has its own bowling alley. And not the usual one, where you have to bend down deep, but a wooden one, standing on legs, portable and easy to take apart.

Even wheelchair users can bowl at the senior bowling alley. Because the lane is so high that it could be operated even while sitting down. "We have now first tested the bowling alley with the residents. Because that's what we always do before we buy something", says home manager harald klier. But the residents of the lucas cranach home like bowling. They also like it better than bowling at a game console or something similar. Because the wooden ball lies well in the hand. And the seniors really get excited when the wooden cones fall over with a clatter.

Training for the tournament
In the past weeks the seniors tried out the lane again and again and trained a little bit for the tournament.

New for the bundesliga

New for the Bundesliga

Bad staffelstein – after withdrawing from the kegler-bundesliga in the 2010/11 season, SKC staffelstein will once again be represented in the german top flight of the deutsche-kegler-bund classic (DKBC) in the coming season. As champions of the 2. Bowlers league sud and winner of the promotion tournament, the bowlers from obermain have qualified again for the bundesliga in the mode 120 throw.
In the coming months, bowling fans in the spa town can once again look forward to duels with SKC victoria bamberg and german champion rot-weib zerbst. We talked to hans-karl brutting, who has been in charge of SKC staffelstein for many years, about the season that starts next saturday

After jumping into the bundesliga, SKC staffelstein plays for one of the three german titles in the 120-throw league. In your opinion, what is the value of the title of the 120-throw league in addition to the 200-throw classic league of the DKBC and the championship of the german classic union (DCU) over 200 throws??
Brutting: the 120-litter championship is the title that entitles you to participate in international club competitions. You have to adapt to international customs. What the DCU and the DKBC did with its 200-throw leagues does not make sense. Above all, i don't understand what the DKBC is doing with its concession league. The problem is that there is no clear leadership at the top of the federation. Each state cooks its own soup. In upper franconia, it is a chaos where each district can still decide for itself whether to play 120 or 200 throws. This is the undoing of the sport of bowling. In lower franconia, the district management has made a clear statement in favor of 120 throws. When our second team was promoted from the west district league to the B district league, only four players could play there instead of six. What to do with the rest then? With such a chaos you don't get on a green branch.

Four years ago, it was said that the staffelstein bowling alley was too low, which is why the SKC no longer received a starting place. What has happened to the DKBC guidelines for the bundesliga since then??
The requirements were already relaxed three years ago when we entered the second league. In the meantime, we can also play in the bundesliga with our B-classification of the bahn.

“Club” double spoils ex-coach hecking’s mood

Dieter hecking was in a great mood for a long time. But then timmy simons and per nilsson spoiled their former coach’s easter sunday. "Mablos pissed" was the new coach of vfl wolfsburg after the 2:2 (2:0) against 1. FC nurnberg.

Hecking admits he thought "scheib-gegentor" when he scored the equalizer. The coach, who moved from france to lower saxony almost three months ago, had to realize once again that the job at the vfl is much more difficult than he had thought when he made the switch. "It’s about general, not that it was against nurnberg," he said: "it was a mirror image of the ruckrunde."

Hecking watched in shock as his former team turned around a bundesliga game it had almost lost and scored twice with defensive players simons and nilsson (61. And 66. Minute) got another point.
